Comments:
OhrR In the reduced form ( in the absence of organic hydroperoxide), OhrR binds to cooperatively to the ohrA-ohrR intergenic region, hindering the binding of RNAP to promoters.
Transcription start site of OhrR and predicted translation start site are the same position.
OhrR In the oxidized form (in the presence of organic hydroperoxide), the binding affinity of OhrR decreases, thus allowing RNAP to bind to the ohrA and ohrR promoter. Transcription from ohrA could be initiated by the RNAP holoenzyme alone, whereas that from ohrR appears to require additional activation by bound OhrR at the central primary site.
HrdB? The promoter of ohrR is recognized by HrdB sigma factor or uncharacterized alternative sigma factor.
