Comment FdmR1 was shown to be a SARP-type activator regulating FDM production. RT-PCR studies revealed that up to 26 of the 28 genes within the fdm cluster were controlled by FdmR1. Titers of FDMs were signi?cantly improved, to 1.36g/liter, by overexpressing fdmR1 in S. griseus ATCC 49344.
